Martin's report goes to show the incredible variety of machinery that people have developed from the basic Triple theme. Enjoy!
1. A nice Triton, a super bike: 750 T150V |
2. My new friend, Paul, next to his Rob North 750 T150. He has spent a lot of years putting this bike together and it is brand new! He is a quiet, unassuming man so when he showed me the work in progress last year I was gobsmacked. He is definitely a wolf in sheep's clothing!
3a. George Pooley's V6 Triple.
George is a 'talented' engineer who also built a four-cylinder Quadrant (see below).
3b. More George Pooley creations.
Triumph/BSA Triple variants using pre-unit timing covers. |
4. Another exceptional bike, single swingarm T150. If memory serves me right, this was
taken off an Aprilla. Shock is bracketed to the downtube.
5. BSA Rocket3 Difazio hub-steering frame.
6. Team Boyer Trident.
7. Ron Chandler Rocket3 - now which is up?
8. Tim Wooley's ex-P&M Rocket3. He told me that for £20k he bought two P&M bikes to ride/race
and for another £2k per annum races them for 'fun'!
I can see the sense in that.
9. A 'different' approach than many take.
In the background: Phil Pick's Triple Cycles stand with a Tri-Spark ignition system being fitted.
To the right: Tony Page's quick Rob North. |
10. Bike 89: Motorycycle Pom! |
11. Bike 110: a nice Rob North Rocket3. |
12. Bike 111: another Rob North Rocket3 - getting blasé now. |
13. Bike 91 (two bikes using the same number): How many bikes does Ron
Chandler actually own? |
14. A nice restoration of a T160 with a Paul Bryant 3-4-2 exhaust system. |
15. Two T150 variants 'resting'
(it looks like they're looking for a way to jump the fence - Kim) |
16. NorBSA Rocket3 - 1000cc. |
17. George Pooley's version of the Quadrant.
A tasteful Rocket3 with 3-3 exhaust system in the background. |
18. Anglo Bike - a 'famous' Trident from the '70s, featured in Bike magazine of that era. |
19. A Dresda Trident - I think? |
20. That tasty Rocket3 again.
(TOL member John Young pulling up his flies! John is now the proud owner of 'Son of Sam') |
21. John Young covering up a broken zip! (only joking) |
22. TOL member Dominic Kramer's BSA Tornado
(the beautiful BSA version of the Les Williams Legend - Kim) |
23. Les Williams-built Triumph Legend.
TOL member SammyTrident's Trident in the background. |
24. SammyTrident's Trident in good company. |
25. A nice period John Player Norton (JPN). |
26. Another Les Williams Triumph Legend. |
27. A Slippery Sam Replica (or is it a Slippery Sam Replica replica?) |
28. Bikes lined up for display and judging. The T160 being examined (2nd in the lineup) is mine. |
