Volkswagen does that with their parts too. The OEM box proudly says 'made in Germany' whilst the Beru part in the box is stamped 'Made in Ireland'. I was expecting Bosch or Hella, not Beru. If I wanted Beru I'd bought the part at some webshop. Volkswagen was quite annoyed when I confronted them with this.
And let's be honest, with all these Chinese aftermarket parts on the market these days we're actually riding Zong Cheng's instead of Triumph's or BSA's anyways. ;)

And to make matters worse some people are removing perfectly good serviceable parts likes SKF bearings and replacing them with inferior items in the mistaken belief that they are doing the right thing.

Or replace their worn out SKF bearings with new Chinese made inferior SKF bearings. You can't tell the difference from the outside. Same goes for bolts and nuts that do not hold their torque specifications.
It's a desease.
